At day 3 of the Hackvention Experience Tour we discovered how fast growing Silicon Valley tech and hardware companies innovate rapidly and collaborate together in technology ecosystems.
As an event series that focuses on immersive technologies, we rushed through the traffic from Palo Alto to San Francisco and entered the holy halls of UPLOAD. Founder Will invited us to show us around the workspaces and exchanged thoughts on the European VR/AR ecosystem with our participants. We tested the latest hard- and software and finally walked the ISS in VR.
After having dinner in Mountain View, the last day ended with a special treatment for body and soul: while the one part of the group was having fun relaxing in the Californian sun, our sport enthusiasts teamed up at Stanford Campus to run the famous “Stanford Dish” – a run around the Campus observatory having some sporty challenges climbing hills, fighting the heat and simply enjoying the moment with an amazing view over the whole Bay Area under perfect weather conditions.
Churned up by the impressions and charged with interesting contacts to digital leaders and talents of Silicon Valley we look back to three inspiring days in the world’s leading tech and innovation hotspot. We had lots of fun, enjoyed a relaxed atmosphere and passionate talks. With uncountable new ideas and typically Californian healthy food in their stomach our participants returned back impressed and tired at the same time looking forward to the final Hackvention VR/AR Meetup Palo Alto on Saturday, building bridges between the European and the Silicon Valley VR/AR enthusiasts.
Finally we would like to thank all the people that made this first Experience Tour so special: many thanks to our partner KPMG for your enthusiasm and open-minded friendly culture while experimenting with us during this tour. Many thanks to our friends, whether billion dollar companies or small start-ups, for showing us around. And finally a special thank to our hackvention team: you guys simply rock!
Our journey will continue. From Silicon Valley, to Berlin, Shenzhen, India and Australia there are so many innovation hotspots, inspirational places, unknown companies and fascinating people around the world that are awaiting us to be experienced hand-in-hand with our partners, change-makers and everyone interested in discovering the path of innovation. Rethink, disrupt, innovate! Sounds interesting? Join us!
